This is a 6-month contract-to-hire opportunity.

 

This position requires on-site presence in Kansas City, Missouri. Candidates must currently reside in the Kansas City area. Relocation assistance is not provided.

 

Job Summary:

The Building Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the safety and functionality of our facilities. This role involves performing routine and preventative maintenance tasks, responding to emergency requests, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

 

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry systems.

• Conduct regular inspections to identify and address safety hazards.

• Diagnose and repair building systems and equipment malfunctions.

• Maintain inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies.

• Respond to emergency maintenance requests promptly.

• Maintain the exterior of the building.

• Log and maintain records of maintenance activities.

• Assist in managing the maintenance budget.

• Operate computerized Energy Management systems.

• Respond to emergency situations and maintenance concerns.

• Provide excellent customer service.

• Be available for on-call and after-hours work.

 

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent; trade school certification preferred.

• Proven experience in building maintenance or related field.

• Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.

• Licensed or journeyman electrician.

• Strong knowledge of commercial electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.

• Ability to use hand and power tools effectively.

• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

• Good communication, interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, demanding work environment.

• Safety-minded with knowledge of safety protocols and regulations.

 

Base salary:

Up to $34/hr
